As we retreat to the indoors, what better way to welcome nature into our homes than with a beautiful mounted staghorn fern?  These shade loving epiphytic (they grow without soil) plants are named for their resemblance to antlers - think of it as taxidermy you can feel good about.  Easy to care for and visually stunning, these plants will be a welcome addition to any living space.

Field trippers will go home with their own mounted fern along with care instructions and the skills to create more.  All supplies provided including a variety of wood mounts to choose from.

Snacks and libations will be provided.

Betina Simmons-Blaine is a master gardener and owner ofMarzipan Seattle, specializing in kokedama and ceramics. When she's not playing with mud, she can be found growing, pickling, fermenting, and preserving northwest bounty in Seward Park or Lopez Island. Marzipan makes her swoon.

Time:  Sunday, October 9th 2:00 - 4:00 p.m.

Place:  Fioravanti on Beacon Hill  3063 Beacon Ave.  map
