Born in the midwest, formative years spend in Colorado, and a final west coast migration from Vail to Los Angeles, Portland and Seattle. Currently living part-time in Toronto, Ontario with my partner in life, Kerry Hayes. Traveling to remote corners in non-remote places, and discovering the interconnectedness of landscape, topography, humans, animals and the basics we are all striving for.
I have always been in some sort of creative process since I can remember, and in some sort of migration. I grew up with creativity all around me with that the freedom to explore on my own, in groups and away from authority figures. That could be viewed in many ways, but it is what is was and it shaped who I am today.
Taking pictures, drawing, painting, sewing, designing, crafting, exploring and trying to be creative everyday is as much a goal today as it ever was, and there is a new kind of calm and urgency at the same time. The need to create and the need to be still - watch, listen and be.
To find joy in the everyday and not taking myself or others too seriously. This is not an easy task sometimes, especially the serious part but I keep trying.
